You know that scene in 30 Rock when Liz Lemon is like “What a week, huh?” and Alec Baldwin’s character goes, “Lemon, it’s Wednesday.” That’s honestly a perfect encapsulation of my mood today. I happen to know a great cure to the Hump Day blues however, and it involves doing a bit of retail therapy.
I don’t just recommend buying a bunch of stuff you don’t need at Target or on Amazon. Though that can be temping, it’s always better to be smart and savvy about your purchases. That’s where I come in. At Reviewed, it’s our goal to help our readers buy the best stuff at the lowest prices by testing countless products in our labs and using price tracking tools so we know when these top-tested products go on sale. From one of our favorite meat thermometers to a robot vacuum we love, here’s 9 of the best things to buy online this Wednesday.
1. 40% off: a top-rated robot vacuum
With so many different robot vacuums on the market, sometimes it can be hard to distinguish between well-made, high-performance vacs and ones that may be cheap or gimmicky. That’s why we take our testing so seriously at Reviewed. We even have a customized obstacle course for robot vacuums where we measure their suction and navigation abilities against walls, furniture and hard to reach areas.
iRobot happens to be a brand that we trust, and their Roombas consistently land in the top spots when we test robot vacuums. Though we haven’t tested the iRobot Roomba 860, we do recommend similar models such as the 650, 770, and 880. With an almost perfect 4.5-star rating on Amazon out of more than 600 reviews, the 860 is likely to do just as good of a job sucking up all the dirt and debris on your floors. So if vacuuming is your least favorite chore, this little guy can do a lot of the work for you, and right now you can save $180 on the 860, as a Deal of the Day on Amazon.
2. Under $20: our favorite cold brew coffee maker
Even though I prefer to drink iced coffee all year round, most people would categorize it as a summer drink. So since it’s finally June, now’s the time that cold brew makes its comeback. You don’t have to spring for Starbucks every time you have a hankering for it though, because cold brew makers can bring high-quality coffee right to your home. This one by Takeya was voted our absolute favorite when we tested the best cold brew makers, as it makes a killer cup of coffee and is also super affordable. It usually retails for $25, but if you clip the coupon on Amazon you can get it for just $18.22 today—a 27% discount that’s hard to beat.
3. Save up to 15% on the best meat thermometers
Still wondering what to get Dad for Father’s Day? If he plans on grilling this summer, a meat thermometer will make a great gift because it’ll help him ensure that his steaks, burgers, and other meats are cooked to perfection. ThermoWorks makes our top-tested meat thermometers, and right now with their Father’s Day Sale (which ends today), you can get 15% off the Classic Thermapen, on sale for $67.15. The Thermapen has a bunch of useful features like an easy to read display and 2-3 second temperature readings, plus it conserves battery by turning on and off when you flip it.
4. Get huge savings on All-Clad’s best-selling cookware
Calling all cooking enthusiasts, because from today until this Friday, All-Clad’s annual “VIP Factory Seconds Sale” is going on, meaning that you can get their coveted cookware at actual affordable prices, which is not something that happens very frequently. Whether you’re in the market for a stainless steel frying pan, a new set of mixing bowls, or a fancy pressure cooker, you can find hundreds of popular All-Clad items to add to your kitchen that are all up to 80% off. There is a tiny catch though—these products are discounted because they are “factory seconds,” so they may have a small scratch or ding on them that occurred during production or shipment, but they still function perfectly. Just because All-Clad cannot sell them in stores, doesn’t mean they won’t look fabulous in your kitchen. To access the sale, all you have to do is enter in your email, and start shopping!
5. Save big on any of these Kindles
With Father’s Day coming this Sunday, Amazon is slashing prices left and right on some of our favorite electronics, Kindles included. They just lowered the price of the Kindle Paperwhite to $100 (originally $130), the Kindle Oasis to $200 (originally $250), and the standard Kindle to $70 (originally $90). All three are fantastic deals, as these best-selling e-readers are not on sale all that often, especially at these prices.
When it comes to features, the Paperwhite and Oasis have a fair amount of overlap, like a glare-free display, waterproof body, 300-ppi resolution, and extra long battery life so that they can last for weeks on a single charge. While the basic Kindle—which was newly released in 2019—doesn’t boast these same qualities (its display is 167 ppi, for example), it was re-designed with an adjustable front light (finally!) to make reading easier any time of the day. Choosing a kindle that fits your needs is easy and at these prices, you can’t go wrong one way or another.
6. Under $300: The best headphones on the market
The Sony WH-1000XM3 over-ears are more than just a pair of headphones. They’re industry-leading, innovative, and smart—and they provide an immersive audio experience. They dethroned the Bose QuietComfort 35 Series IIs to take the top spot in our list of the best noise-canceling headphones because of one feature in particular that Sony calls “Adaptive Sound Control.” Basically what it means is that the headphones will determine the perfect level of noise-cancelation depending on your surroundings and adjust accordingly, whether you’re on a plane or walking down the street. You can also easily fine-tune the ambient sound settings to your preferred specs from Sony’s Headphones Connect app.
In short, these headphones are incredible and will revolutionize the way you listen to music at home, on your commute, or while traveling. Right now they’re down to the lowest price we’ve ever seen (aside from a Drop deal), available for just $298 on Amazon in both the black and silver colors.
7. Save up to 70% on all things outdoor at Wayfair
Now that the weather is warm and summer is in full swing, it’s time to give our patios some much needed TLC. After all, if you’re hosting guests or simply having a barbecue with the fam, you’ll likely be spending the majority of your time outside, so it’s important to make sure your outdoor furnishings and decor bring you joy. But if they don’t, it’s an easy fix—even some new lights or an outdoor rug can instantly brighten up an outdoor space. Thankfully, Wayfair’s huge “All Things Outdoor” sale is still happening, so you can choose from thousands of chaises, garden accents, fire pits, hammocks and more, all of which are up to 70% off.
8. The incredibly popular Echo Dot is back on sale
If you don’t already have a smart speaker somewhere in your home, you’re missing out, to say the least. Having one in your kitchen to set timers and add things to your shopping list while you’re busy prepping dinner for the fam can make your life so much easier. Not to mention all the other bonuses a voice assistant offers, like checking the news, traffic, and weather to name a few.
If you’re not quite sold yet on the benefits of owning an Echo, the third-gen. Dot is an affordable choice that serves as a great introduction to smart speakers. Not only is it the least expensive Echo, but it’s also $20 off right now. While that’s not the best price we’ve seen, it’s just $6 more than its Black Friday low, so now is actually a great to get one while this sale is still going on.
9. Our favorite affordable Bluetooth speaker is down to its best price
Good-quality Bluetooth speakers don’t have to cost an arm and a leg. The Anker Soundcore line is a great example of a manufacturer who blends affordability and quality quite seamlessly, which is why Reviewed named their Soundcore 2 our favorite cheap portable Bluetooth speaker. It’s durable, has a long-lasting 24-hour battery power, and is water resistant to boot. If you’ve been considering buying a new portable speaker for your beach trips this summer but don’t want to spend a fortune, don’t pass this deal up because this is the lowest price it’s ever been.
Prices are accurate at the time this article was published, but may change over time.
