While you’re spring cleaning and dusting off your old TV, you might notice it’s a little outdated, meaning this could be a great time for an upgrade. If you really care about having impeccable viewing quality for movies, sports, the final season of Game of Thrones, and everything in between, then you’re going to want to go with a Samsung QLED. These bad boys are some of the best TVs money can buy—the only issue is they usually come with a steep price tag.
Typically, the 65-inch Q9 QLED TV goes for $2,800, which is out of budget for most of us and not something we’d recommend considering the other options out there, like the LG OLED lineup that we also love. But luckily for you, we scored an exclusive offer from Massdrop on the 65-inch Q9 for just $2,000 (that’s $800 in savings!). That’s literally the lowest price we’ve ever seen for this TV by a staggering $500, and frankly an incredible deal for any QLED TV, especially one this big.
When we tested the Samsung Q9, we loved the sleek and minimalist design and its added features like “ambient mode” that displays an image and the time or weather while the TV itself is off—with zero screen burn. The Q9 also uses quantum dot technology (hence the Q), which boosts its light output and color volume to create an amazing contrast that enhances the viewing experience. Did we mention it might completely ruin watching movies on any other TV?
I will say it again: The Q9 is one of the best TVs we’ve ever tested. And, honestly, it would have been our pick for best of the year if it wasn’t for the too-high initial price tag. But with this sale, it’s a much more reasonable purchase price if you’ve wanted a serious upgrade.
If 65 inches is too small for you, you can also get the 75-inch model for $3,200, which gives you about $1,300 in savings—not bad for a massive screen. And if you don’t need something so huge or don’t want to drop $2k on a new TV but still want a QLED, the 55-inch Samsung Q8 QLED TV is also on sale at Massdrop for $1,300 or about $200 in savings. The Q8 has slightly lower specs than the flagship Q9, but still offers great viewing quality at a lower price.
To access these insane deals, you do need to make an account with Massdrop, but it’s free and will only take a few minutes of your time. Also note that these TVs won’t ship until April 12, so you’ll have to wait a bit for your new screen. But for this low price point, we still think it’s worth it.
Word to the wise: This deal is only good until Tuesday, April 2, and there’s only a limited number of units for sale, so you should act sooner than later if you want to snag this deal.
