Bette Midler shared on Twitter Sunday that she was having a hard time believing Attorney General William Barr’s four-page summary of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report, which said it found no proof that President Donald Trump or his campaign conspired with Russian efforts to sway the election that put him in office.
But the summary added, “While this report does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him,” contrary to the claims of the president, his legal team and allies.
The “First Wives Club” star wrote, “#MuellersReport finds no evidence showing #TrumpsTeam of ‘collusion’ with Russia, but stops short of ‘exonerating’ Trump on obstruction of justice. Knowing Trump, he probably tried to do exactly that. TWO MORE YEARS OF CHAOS, RACE BAITING, GRIFTERS, CON ARTISTS, SHAME/FEAR. SAD.”
Midler, 73, then advised: “As they say in LA, suck it up and VOTE BLUE in 2020!!”
“#DonaldTrump has forced us to live through war as a nation for the last two years; he has caused depression, despair, confusion and death,” Midler wrote in her concluding tweet on the matter. “We’re not just sick at heart, but literally sick from him; from uncontrollable rage at the thought that he will get away with his crimes.”
Midler isn’t shy about posting her opinions of Trump. in a Friday tweet, she described him as “the most despicable man ever to inhabit the Presidency; a tragic, repulsive choice, and not a true American.”
She also took a social media swipe at the first lady in November, which was met with public criticism.
In November 2018, Midler tweeted an NSFW photo Melania Trump from a steamy shoot with British GQ in 2000. The image which Midler shared from the flight-themed spread shows Trump posing in the cockpit wearing a risque ensemble.
“The dry cleaning bill for the upholstery on Air Force One must be insane,” Midler cracked to nearly 1.5 million followers.
