Angelina Jolie stuns at ‘Dumbo’ premiere, brings kids to circus

HOLLYWOOD — The flying elephant might be the star of Tim Burton’s “Dumbo,” but Angelina Jolie and her kids were the stars of the world premiere Monday night.

Guests at the circus-themed party were blown away to see the surprise guests as Jolie entered in a white sleeveless gown with four of her six children —  Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

The giggling crew posed on the red carpet before entering the party to watch jugglers on stilts, acrobats dancing on rings in the air and partake in carnival sledge hammer skill tests (much like mighty Helen Mirren).

Albert Tsai, 14, the star of Disney Channel’s “Coop & Cami Ask the World,” says he was shocked when Jolie approached him at the party and said she was a fan of his show.

“She introduced herself to me, and then introduced me to all the kids,” said Tsai. “She said she recognized me. It was quite the thrill. We chatted for a bit and took a picture together.”

The Jolie clan then enjoyed the circus-themed food around a table. Food included everything carnival from corn dogs to corn-on-the-cob to chili fries.

Jolie, of course, is in the Disney family now shooting “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” the live-action sequel to her 2014 film which was inspired by the Disney classic “Sleeping Beauty.”

Colin Farrell, who stars in his first Tim Burton film, said the vibrant circus atmosphere at the party was just like shooting “Dumbo.”

“This is what it was like to go to the office every day,” said Farrell. “These colors, this energy, this level of gymnastic skills. I (kid) you not, this is what it was like.”

Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito, Eva Green and Michael Keaton star in director Tom Burton’s new live-action version of “Dumbo.”

Another full-on stunner at the premiere: “Dumbo” star Eva Green, who portrays glamorous circus performer Colette Marchant. Green wore a flowing, surreal Iris Van Herpen dress on the carpet.

“It’s a strange cloud dress, it’s unusual,” said Green. “It’s special. It’s nice to take a tiny bit of risk now and again.”
