Four-time all-star Manny Machado hasn’t officially been introduced as a member of the San Diego Padres — but the team store at Petco Park tried to start selling his new jersey, anyway.
According to a report from The San Diego Union-Tribune, No. 13 Machado jerseys were briefly on display and available for sale at the Padres’ stadium store Wednesday before the team was informed of their existence and “quickly alerted vendor Delaware North that the jerseys had to be removed from the racks.”
A Twitter user posted a photo of a Machado jersey at the team store on Twitter on Wednesday evening.

It is unclear if anyone actually purchased a Machado jersey from the store.
Machado, 26, was one of the top free agents on the market before he agreed to a 10-year, $300-million deal with the Padres on Tuesday. He was scheduled to take a physical Thursday before being officially introduced and joining the team at spring training in Arizona.
