Dolly Parton graces London’s West End for the premiere of hit show “9 to 5 The Musical.” (Feb. 17)
Dolly Parton is in London promoting her “9 to 5: The Musical,” and of course she answered a gender equality question in typical “Dolly” fashion — directly.
The singer who championed the issue of gender equality back in 1980 with her “9 to 5” hit song and movie, told Sky News that the current-day #MeToo movement is “a work in progress as life itself is — especially women in the workplace.”
“It brought up the subject again with harassment in the workplace and the fact that women are still not getting the chance to do as much as they can or get paid equal for the work that they do,” she told the British news organization.

But, despite knowing some “bad” men in her life and being “constantly” hit on as a young woman, she stood firm on this: “I never did anything to try and get ahead in the business, I’ve never slept with anyone unless I wanted to.”
