Andy Cohen revealed on his show, “Watch What Happens Live,” that he is expecting his first child via surrogate.
Andy Cohen is over the moon about the newest addition to his family.
The “Watch What Happens Live” host, 50, welcomed his first child – son Benjamin Allen Cohen – by surrogate Monday night. His bundle of joy weighed a whopping 9 lbs., 2 ounces, and measured 20 inches long.
“WOW! This is my son,” Cohen captioned a black-and-white Instagram picture of himself cuddling his newborn. “I’m in love. And speechless. And eternally grateful to an incredible surrogate. And I’m a dad. Wow.”
He also revealed the sentimental meaning behind his son’s name: “He is named after my grandfather Ben Allen.”
In typical Cohen fashion, the TV personality announced his baby news on “WWHL” in late December, while sharing the Clubhouse stage with veterans of Bravo’s “Real Housewives” franchise – Vicki Gunvalson, NeNe Leakes, Kyle Richards, Ramona Singer and Teresa Giudice.
“I overshare and I expect everyone around me to do the same,” Cohen said. “Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, a fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science, if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks’ time, I am gonna become a father … thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future.”
The same “Real Housewives” cast members threw Cohen a lavish baby shower at the Palm Beverly Hills last week. The theme was suitably “A Star Is Born,” featuring dozens of blue flowers, stars, candles and reality stars.
“I’m speechless,” Cohen captioned a group shot from his shower. “Every Housewife, featuring @JohnMayer.”
